The purpose of the Portfolio audit is to ensure that the Professional Development Portfolio has been successfully completed. Portfolios are selected for audit by random sampling and by identified triggers. Triggers, or causes for auditing Portfolios, are based on non-compliance with the Portfolio guidelines or non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations concerning the profession as indicated in the Code of Ethics for the Profession of Dietetics. Practitioners are required to keep documentation for two years after the end of their 5-year recertification cycle.
