Why we chose this book

The two authors/editors, Melinda Dennis and Daniel Leffler, are two of the co-founders of the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Melinda was diagnosed with celiac disease 20 years ago and is an expert in the nutritional care of people with gluten issues. I wanted to carry her book because I knew it would be good. Also, my youngest daughter went to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley 3 years ago to become a pastry chef. While there, she became very ill with a wide range of what appeared to be unrelated symptoms and we found out two weeks after she graduated that she had a hypersensitivity to baker's yeast, wheat, dairy, eggs and other foods she was around every day. Our family has been on a journey for the past two years trying to restore her health.
