About the Author

Cedric Bryant, PhD, FACSM, serves as the chief science officer for the American Coubcil on Exercise (ACE), as well as other prestigious organizations. He has authored over 150 professional articles and 21 books. Barry Franklin, PhD, FACSM, has been the director of cardiac rehab and research programs and adjunct faculty member on exercise science. He has authored or coauthored over 300 scholastic papers, chapters and books. Sabrena Newton-Merrill, MS, has owned her own personal training business, managed fitness departments in commercial facilities, and taught group exercise classes since 1987. She is involved in curriculum development for ACE.
